General System Description
The primary distribution switchgear is a distributor for medium voltage generator and load feeder panels.General Mechanical Layout and Construction
The switchgear consists of free-standing panels in a framework (sheet steel 2.5 mm, welded). To reduce the effects of internal arcing, individual components can be sealed off with pressure relief valves. The switchgear is designed for wall mounting, although an assembly and venting area of 500 mm must be left behind the panels. All pressure relief valves must be pointed to the back to protect operating personnel. The circuit breaker or the device combinations for feeder outputs are located on tracks and can be removed from the front while an electromechanical locking system ensures that the junction is connected before it is pulled out. A test position is provided. A spindle drive is used to facilitate movement in and out. The low voltage unit is sealed off on all sides and therefore separate from the primary distributor.
